The Astrid Park Plaza is housed in an immensely imposing modern building with turreted wings that create a more traditional, castle-like appearance. It is set behind neatly kept gardens and conveniently situated opposite Antwerp's central station. The spacious lobby boasts a long reception desk and is appointed in a contemporary, minimalist style, which means that there are relatively few places to sit while waiting to check in. Also spacious, the 228 guestrooms feature peach toned décor, blue carpets and light wood furniture. The front-facing rooms have porthole-style windows, which lend them a vaguely nautical feel. All are clean and well maintained, as are the marble en suite bathrooms. The Square, Brasserie & Terrace on the second-floor serves international dishes and has picture windows providing a wonderful view of the gardens and Antwerp beyond. There’s also an informal bar and a more stylish cocktail lounge.
